FILM SPOTLIGHT: KIRBY & TRENT
Kirby and Trent are FUN — their whole day was a breeze. Very much in love, it made my job easy. All couples have special and unique ways of showing their love, but these two show it from a simple look at each other. They were excited, relaxed, calm, confident, and just very happy to be there. Honestly, I especially loved their reception. They said their group was going to party and they showed tf up! Their wedding crew and families all celebrated them individually as well as their partnership, and having that support speaks volumes about their relationship.
I was honored to work alongside the talent of Svenja Bauer (her color matching of film to digital is perfection) at one of our favorite venues, Keswick Vineyards, and I loved the elevated florals from Ciara Floral Design. Jaclyn Grieger of Exchange Events kept everything running smoothly and everyone well-fed and Prime Time Event Group managed the vibes just right.
“We had found Cat after combing through what felt like dozens and dozens of wedding videographers and were immediately impressed by how organic and authentic her clips were. The clip that led to us inquiring was so FUN, just what we wanted to see in our own wedding videos.
Working with Cat was simple and easy; just what you want to experience as a bride during a fairly stressful period. She understood the vision we had and executed it to perfection. Watching her clips/videos brings us back to our wedding day whenever we watch them and I can’t help but be impressed in seeing that she captured everything seamlessly while also being discrete with her equipment on the dance floor/during the reception.
Communication after the wedding has also been timely and collaborative. We would highly recommend Cat for any future couples getting married, she is amazing!”

FILM SPOTLIGHT: RIVER & CHRISTINA
I always call River my music friend. We send song recs back and forth and have been to a lot of really great shows together. Anyone that knows him knows that music is just a part of who he is, and it is something that he and Christina have celebrated within their relationship in many ways as well. Getting to know Christina over the last several years, I can’t think of a better person for River. They are deeply connected and fully embracing of each other. They are down to earth, great friends, and kind-hearted. I feel lucky to have them in my life, and they have been a part of my film career since the beginning!
Prior to the first look, when we ask the usual questions of if anyone will be emotional, Christina said she hadn’t cried in almost a year, so she wasn’t expecting any waterworks. As soon as he turned around, that emotion came out and it was so sweetly released. Thaaaat is what I love about first looks — the chance to breathe, feel, and just be present with your person — especially after the running around of getting ready coupled with the nerves of the ceremony soon to come.
I also love when couples inject their personalities into their wedding day. Historic Pole Green is a unique and beautiful location in itself. They used their favorite records in their decor, had collected bells to be played at the end of the ceremony, opted for a pizza truck for catering, and had their DJ Pete Bolog of Bunn DJ play the music they love at the reception instead of the standard wedding top 40. We got to work alongside some of our favorite vendors, who took their vision and really showcased the fun; Chelsea Diane Photography always brings a warm and romantic approach to photography, and is just a joy to team up with — and Marylee Marmer Events who has an infectious energy and put together the brightest pop of color for the florals.
River’s parents have passed but they made sure there were nods to them, such as the photo pinned in his jacket, the framed portrait of them on a seat at the ceremony, and in lieu of a mother-son dance, playing a song of significance to show love to her in her absence. Finding ways to incorporate loved ones who are no longer with us or cannot be present a special thing — it is meaningful to see them celebrated.
To see River and Christina scream-singing with their best friends to their favorite Taking Back Sunday song on the dance floor of the wedding day was a full-circle moment for me and I knew they were all in, all the way. <3
“Having known Cat for years and sharing a deep love for music and film, I had no doubt that she would create something special for our wedding—but even with high expectations, she completely blew us away. From the very beginning, Cat has been an incredible friend, and I’ve always admired her passion and talent. Christina and I actually filmed with her when she was first starting her business, and even then, I knew she had something truly special. Seeing how much she has grown as a filmmaker and storyteller only made us more excited to have her capture our wedding day.
Sometimes when you hire friends or family, the results can be a little unpredictable—but that was never a concern with Cat. She brought the perfect balance of professionalism and warmth, making us feel completely at ease while also delivering a stunning short film that perfectly encapsulated the magic we felt that day. She didn’t just document the moments—she captured the feeling of it all, frame for frame.
One moment I’m particularly obsessed with is the transition from dancing with my beautiful wife in an open field to the start of the music and dancing. It felt like we were in a music video, and I smile ear to ear every time I watch it. Her music choices were absolutely perfect, bringing everything together in a way that feels both deeply personal and effortlessly cool.
If you’re looking for someone who will not only capture your wedding beautifully but also craft a film that feels like you, look no further. Cat is a great talent, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the way she preserved our day. Highly, highly recommend!”

FILM SPOTLIGHT: ANNA & DAN
Anna and Dan are the best, and I loved this day all-around. I felt their light from our first meeting, and their wedding day was reflective of that light in so many ways. Family and friends are clearly very important to them, and the happiness of their celebration was felt by all.
Incorporating Super 8 film into their day was special. It adds a different dimension and gives those feelie-feels of nostalgia. I always welcome the opportunity to include different formats of capture in the edit, and it was fun to have those textures for this one.
Working alongside Madeleine Collins is always a treat, and she has such an eye for showcasing moments in an elevated way. Their planner, Marriage and Mimosas, made working out of state at a new-to-us venue, Kent Island Resort, a breeze. Timeless and beautiful florals by Kate & Lily Floral Design elevated the tent design. Their sweet dog, Oakley, was also clearly a star, so shout-out to Forever & Fur Always for keeping her happy and playful during all of the hustle and bustle of the day!
As Anna’s mom said during her toast, “Here it is, this is it. This is the blessing. This love, this joy. These families, these friends. THIS is the blessing. May you always have what’s in this room right now.”
“Working with Cat as our videographer was an absolute joy! From the moment we met her, it was clear that she was not only incredibly talented but also a wonderful person to have by our side on our wedding day. Her easygoing nature made it so comfortable to be around her, and she truly felt like part of our celebration.
Cat always had a smile on her face, which radiated positivity throughout the day. She captured every moment with such deliberate ease, making it all feel effortless. From the glimpses we've seen so far, it’s clear she perfectly encapsulated the overwhelming love, joy, and happiness of our wedding. You can genuinely feel the emotion in her film, bringing those precious moments back to life for us.
We are especially grateful for Cat's suggestion to add on Super 8 film before the wedding; we had so much fun with it throughout the day and know that it will add such a beautiful and personal touch to our final video. We can’t wait to see the full film to relive our day again, knowing it will be a cherished keepsake that we will treasure for years to come. Thank you, Cat, for your incredible work and for capturing our day so beautifully!”
— Anna and Dan
FILM SPOTLIGHT: JESSICA & STUART
The sweetest pair. I knew this wedding would be special. Jessica and Stuart feel like old friends and radiate a warmth that makes them so easy to be around. Through a misty May day, they smiled, hugged, danced, and did everything WITH JOY — and that, my friends, is what matters.
We love to film a mix of HQ and lofi formats to celebrate the beauty and feels that come with a wedding day. When the groom is a drummer, I expect discerning music inspo and was not disappointed! Their venue, Upper Shirley Vineyards, is on the water and great space, whatever the weather. The bright florals from Monarch Flower Farm paired with designs from Elle Loren & Co. was just what was needed against the grey backdrop. Working with Sarah Mattozzi Photography was a breeze (and her work is stunning) — just a lovely experience all around.
“We were absolutely thrilled with Cat’s work on our wedding video – it’s an absolute dream to watch! I cry every time. From the start, her professionalism and passion were evident. She captured every important moment beautifully, blending in wonderfully creative shots. Communication with Cat was seamless, and she was incredibly kind and wonderful to work with. Her excellent taste in music was very important to us and added a perfect touch to the video! The final product, which included multiple highlight reels, a wedding video, and complete footage of the ceremony and speeches, was delivered on time and far exceeded our expectations. The drone footage recorded by her partner, Jared, was an amazing addition as well! We highly recommend Cat and Jared for their dedication, creativity, and exceptional talent. We are so lucky to be able to relive our special day through their amazing cinematography work! Thank you Cat & Jared!”

FILM SPOTLIGHT: CHRISTINE & LENNY
Christine and Lenny decided to do a vow renewal for their 10-year anniversary. I don’t always lead with audio, but these vows— man. The love they share is so special; kind, thoughtful, genuine, and true. The way they chose to honor each other and their marriage with their words was beautiful to capture, and I felt privileged to be a part of that moment with them.
Christine is a fixture in the Richmond wedding scene, owner of both The Hive Wedding Collective (whose team we love working with) and Urban Set Bridal (where she snagged this gorgeous dress). Lenny was dressed by local shop 707 Fine Clothing and another Richmond favorite, Radiant Reflection, gave Christine the modern look she wanted for their VMFA moment. The pops of color in the bouquet from Fleuressence and jewelry from Sun & Selene were perfect accents. I adore working alongside Kenzi Flinchum and she is always in my rotation of photographers to recommend. <3
"I've worked with Cat in a professional capacity a few times as a wedding planner, so I was VERY excited when she was available to film my vow renewal. I wanted something that felt fresh, edgy and a little retro without being trite. Cat got the vibe immediately and mastered the "fly on the wall" artistry perfectly. She made us IG reels that were ready to share and the final product was beautifully edited and really encapsulated our private moments perfectly. I always encourage my clients to invest in both photography and videography and Cat continues to prove why that is essential! Photos are wonderful, but to have an artistically curated video with your voices, your vows, your speeches, etc. it's worth its weight in gold."

Sorta!
We have our couples create playlists of inspo for us to then build out options from our music licensing sites.
Couples then are given the opportunity to make selections from those licensable playlists, so it is a pretty collaborative process!

I stress this on all my prospective client calls, but you should invest in people on your wedding day, particularly your videographer and photographer, that make you feel good.
We spend the most time with you on the big day besides your partner, and often wear many hats as we navigate the day with you, which may include: cheerleader, confidant, assistant, friend, emotional outlet, dress bustler, boutonniere pinner, hype music dj, tissue lender, and so on.
You want someone who has your back on your wedding day— and we do.
I would also say you should forego the idea of perfection and lean into the idea of celebration. Celebrate the decision you are making to be together, celebrate the joy that comes from all your loved ones being in one place (this is so rare — please do enjoy it), and celebrate the choices you made to make the day your own.
Be in love, have fun!
